Meals and Nutrition

Our enthusiastic cooks and kitchen staff take care of the balance and variety of our meals.

Our kitchen has been awarded the highest distinctions by the Verbraucherzentrale Nordrhein-Westfalen (consumer protection) and the Fachhochschule Niederrhein (technical college). It has been given three "chef hats" (97 out of a possible 100 points), the awarding of which involves evaluations in variety, diversity, and nutritional value of the dishes as well as hygiene and care during the preparations of the meals.

All meals are enjoyed in our new canteen.
Breakfast is served in form of an abundant buffet that offers plenty of choices.

To accommodate our students' various schedules, lunch is served every day from 12:00pm to 2:30pm  The canteen offers a great selection of dishes and in addition to this a salad buffet is always available.

Every Wednesday, we all have dinner together, in the circle of all tutorial groups.

In addition, our students have the opportunity to learn everything about meal preparation, kitchen hygiene, and healthy nutrition by taking part in a cooking course lead by our head chef.

Beyond our regular meals, we have "candle light dinners" three times a year. In this festive setting we enjoy a multi-course meal and also practice our more formal manners. After all,  dining is about more than just eating.
