Parents Speak
"The year spent with you at the Nordsee-Internat was the best thing we could have done for our child."
"Dear Mr. Hoff,
First of all, many thanks for your email and for your effort setting up the contact with the kindergarden in Hamburg. Franziska will be reporting for duty right after vacation.
We also wanted to say how thankful we are for this one year which was very beneficial to us.
When we came to you in 2009, our connection to our child was more than broken. Communication was basically no longer possible. Franziska was entering the 10th grade of Gymnasium and was rejecting any form of cooperation there. Our last hope was a boarding school, your boarding school in St. Peter-Ording.
Since we could not imagine that even a trained academic fleet could cope with our puberty afflicted child, we asked you a number of very difficult questions. Perhaps you"ll remember. We squeezed many promises out of you. You reassured us in all points, and finally you added that the Nordsee-Internat is not a prison and that we needed to be clear on that. At the time, we were thinking, that was too bad, because actually we had been hoping for just that.
Now, after one year and four months, we are relieved to see such wonderful results!
You kept all of your promises, without the help of a prison! Your immediate assistance, tireless presence, and personal investment in every child is unique.
Of course this success would not have been possible without your invaluable, extremely qualified colleagues. The supervisors were always ready with a solution and always kept us posted on the development of our daughter. Mrs. Hamm, who was so intensely involved with our "especially difficult" case, was particularly instrumental through her methods as an educator and her empathetic nature.
Our daughter is now back home with us. At the Nordsee-Internat, she opted for graduating after completing 10th grade, and with respectable grades, too - fulfilling your promise of an improvement in grades as well. Our relationship with Franziska is back to where it should be, loving and respectful. This change surely did not come with maturity alone. Franziska thinks very fondly of the atmosphere of a large family at the boarding school, as well as the great variety in extracurricular activities the school offered, in particular the horseback riding and Music-AG.
The year spent with you at the Nordsee-Internat was the best thing we could have done for our child. We would have loved to extend the stay so she could graduate from Gymnasium, but Franziska has decided to pursue vocational training.
We'd like to thank you again and we send you, Mr. von Bülow, Mrs. Bethge, and the entire team best wishes for the future. Above all we hope you receive many, many children and teens whom you can once again bring and guide toward one of the countless right paths there are.
Warm Regards,
Heinz Josef and Anke Klönne
