At A Glance: The Schools
Our Approach to education is clearly predicated upon our students attending the renowned public schools of St. Peter Ording. This way, we are open to accept students from all forms of school and they get to experience their school days alongside the local students from surrounding communities. It is an opportunity for them to create valuable friendships beyond the boundaries of our boarding school.
Over 35% of our students manage a promotion to a higher level of school (the Gymnasium "track" is the highest)- this rate surpasses that at most schools. Should a student have to leave their school and transfer to a lower track -- which, of course, nobody wishes to happen -- it would not necessarily mean they have to leave our boarding school as well.
Many of our partner schools are only a few safe minutes away, easily reachable on foot, on bicycle, or on the school bus. The Nordseegymnasium (North Sea Gymnasium), which has the 'Europaschule' status, is even located directly on our campus. Together with this school as well as the regional school (formerly the Real- and Hauptschule), we have been designing the program for the 'Offene Ganztagschule' (OGTS), or the 'all-day' school (regular German school days are 'half-days' ending around noon or 1pm).
