The Westkuestenschule currently has around 175 students. The average size of a class is 22 students.
During the winter semester, students from the different grades and school tracks are brought together in project-oriented classes on a diverse range of subjects like multimedia studies, astronomy, conflict resolution, baking, and model building.
To encourage the students' independence and willingness take on reciprocal responsibility, they are actively involved in various aspects of the school.
The school maintains well-appointed class rooms and laboratories for biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, and textile studies. There is also a kitchen, a pottery workshop and art and music facilities. To make sure students master computer skills in the various office- and presentation softwares and, of course, in maneuvering around the internet, the school has well-equipped computer labs, and teaches courses in cooperation with partner schools and a software provider.
